About hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found throughout the body. 50% of HA is found in the skin. It is a key component of facial volume that works with collagen and elastin to support the skin. With age we naturally lose volume as the production of HA diminishes. This leads to sagging skin, fine lines, wrinkles and folds.
Injectable HA adds back lost volume to smooth lines and wrinkles, and restore structure to the skin reducing cheek depressions, smile lines, brow furrows, marionette lines, and to redefine the lips for fullness and to treat vertical lip lines.
HA fillers are popular soft tissue fillers that rebuild lost volume and enhance skin structure including contouring and volumizing to restore a youthful appearance. Side effects are typically temporary, mild and localized including pain, redness, swelling, bruising and resolve quickly.
HA fillers offer temporary correction of:

- under eye hollows

- to restore volume lost on the back of the hands.

The Juvederm Family of Fillers
Juvederm fillers contain HA in a gel. Each formulation of a Juvederm filler has unique characteristics that are designed for use in specific locations and for specific problems ranging from superficial wrinkles to deep folds. The formulation and injection location determine how long the effects will last.
The Juvederm® family of fillers are designed to temporarily restore volume lost due to aging by adding back hyaluronic acid (HA). Augmenting HA supports the skin’s structure by stimulating collagen and elastin to rebuild facial volume, smooth fine lines and wrinkles to renew a youthful appearance.
Each formulation contains lidocaine for comfort as indicated by the XC behind the name.
- Juvederm XC restores volume to smooth nasolabial folds, and lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It lasts up to a year.
- Juvederm Ultra XC This product is used to correct moderate to severe wrinkles and folds and for lip augmentation. It lasts up to 12 months.
- Juvederm Vollure™ XC Vollure is a softer version of Voluma that is ideal to soften moderate to severe folds and wrinkles, and laugh lines, lifting and filling sunken skin and fine vertical lip lines to enhance the lips. It lasts about 18 months.
- Juvederm Voluma® XC is designed to correct age-related volume loss in the cheeks, enhancing cheek contours, lifting and reducing sagging. It delivers long-lasting cheek volumization which delivers a lifting effect. Voluma lasts up to 2 years.
- Juvederm Volbella® XC Juvederm Ultra XC is an advanced dermal filler that has a smooth consistency and helps add volume, lift and hydration. It is selected to treat fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth and for lip augmentation. It will smooth away smile lines and wrinkles, restore contours and volume, and lasts up to a year. Juvederm Volbella XC creates natural looking, fuller lips, restores lip symmetry and lasts about 12 months.
